This sculpture was sparked by a desire to let go of old ideas that weigh me down and giving myself permission to soar as the person I was meant to be. It’s important that my work is a positive light that could illuminate others paths to freeing themselves as well.
This sculpture represents the courage it takes in the peeling away of old ideas and messages - the old rusty shame and perfection or whatever it might be for that person. That there is a flame and essence that is meant to be seen once those are pulled away. And that beauty will replace the old crusty ideas giving us the freedom to soar.
